Independent Living
Helping clients live as independently as their health allows within our congregate housing and supportive housing programs is the major goal of the Independent Living Skills component of our housing programs. Clients are provided with hands on and/or at home assistance with budgeting, prioritizing financial responsibilities, comparative shopping, maximizing small living spaces, negotiating public transportation, and other issues that may impede independent living. Monthly workshops are also provided to clients and include such topics as problem solving, opening bank accounts, hygiene and safety, effective use of coupons, and other information that can help to improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS.
